Careers
There are no vacancies yet.
Bluebell Housing has nobody on the payroll and no homes open. When the first support worker or housing role exists it will be published on this page. Until then, here is the standard we are building to — published in advance, so you can hold us to it.
- No vacancies
- No bank list yet
- No homes open yet
The position today
Why there is nothing to apply for
- There are no homes openBluebell has not yet leased a property or housed anybody. Support workers support people in homes, and there are no homes yet — which is the whole of the reason this page is empty, rather than anything more interesting. The sector is also being regulated for the first time: the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023, and what is coming is worth reading before you take any job in it.
- These are housing roles, not care rolesWe provide accommodation and housing-related support. We do not deliver personal care — no washing, dressing, eating, toileting or medication — and we hold no registration for it, because none is needed for what we do. If you are looking for a care job, this is not one, and we would rather say that at the top than at an interview. What supported housing actually is describes the work this would be.
- We are not tradingOur terms of use say it in terms: we are not trading and not accepting placements while that remains true.
- There is no one on the payrollNo colleagues, no rota, no office. That is why this page carries no salary, no shift pattern, no location and no list of benefits — not because we are keeping them back, but because none of them has been decided.
- You are in the right placeOther pages on this site send you here for vacancies and speculative applications. This is that page. It is simply empty for now, and it is the first place a vacancy will appear.
The standard
What we will look for
There is no job description to publish yet, and we would rather leave that open than describe it vaguely. What we can say is what the work is: helping someone keep a home rather than delivering care, and keeping the property they live in safe.
The values we will recruit to
These are already published, and they are the nearest thing to a person specification that exists today:
- Listen first
- See the whole person
- Keep the home safe
- Make ordinary life possible
- Be dependable
- Keep learning
What you will be able to hold us to
These are already written down in our modern slavery statement. They are commitments in law rather than benefits we are offering, which is exactly why we can publish them before we have a single employee.
- No one is ever charged a fee for finding them work — by us or by anyone acting for us.
- No document of yours is retained. Not a passport, not a permit, not a certificate.
- Everyone is paid at least the legal minimum, directly into their own bank account. Never to a third party, never to an account shared with a recruiter, never with a deduction we cannot explain.
- Hours stay inside working time limits.
- Whistleblowing protection applies from your first day, and the route to use it sits outside your own line of management.
Vetting
What we will check before anyone starts
The standard is set by law, not by us. It is the same list wherever this site mentions it, and it will not be shortened for a hard-to-fill role.
- IdentityVerified, along with any qualification the role requires.
- Right to workA right-to-work check is a legal requirement for every person any UK employer appoints, and we will run one on every appointee before they start.
- Employment historyFull history, with any gap explained.
- ReferencesTaken up directly from the referee.
- Criminal recordA criminal record check at the level the role is actually eligible for — which for some housing roles is an enhanced check with the adults’ barred list, and for others is a basic check or none at all. Eligibility attaches to the job in law, not to the employer, and we may not request one that does not apply. The advert will say which level applies to that role before you fill anything in.
Open itemSponsorship is a separate question, with a separate Home Office licence behind it. Bluebell holds no sponsor licence and has not yet decided whether it will apply for one. We would rather tell you that than let you assume either answer.
Equality and adjustments
Ask for an adjustment at any point
You have the right to a reasonable adjustment as an applicant, not only as an employee — at application, at interview, at assessment, and in the job itself. That right is in the Equality Act 2010. You do not have to have a diagnosis, and you do not have to use the word “disability”.
Tell us what would make the process work for you and we will do it, or explain why we cannot. Examples, so the question is not abstract: the questions in advance, a different format, more time, a room rather than a video call, an interpreter, a support person with you, a different day.
Until that name exists
There is no recruitment mailbox yet, so the only route we can honestly offer is our contact page. Say that your message is about an adjustment and it will be routed. Do not send medical information through it — that route has no recruitment privacy notice behind it yet, and the section below says why that matters.
Open itemNo one is named here yet. A route to ask for an adjustment that has nobody’s name on it is weaker than one that has, and we are not going to pretend otherwise — the name goes here the day it exists.
Registering interest
There is nowhere to send an application yet
No careers mailbox has been confirmed and no recruitment privacy notice exists. We are not going to take your CV into a general enquiries inbox to sit unread — so this page has no form on it, on purpose.
Open itemBluebell has not confirmed a recruitment address, and no domain on this site has been verified. An address that bounces is worse than no address: you would believe you had been in touch, and wait.
What we do instead
The first vacancy will be published on this page, and the links in the header and the footer already point at it. Nothing needs to change on this website for a job to appear here.
Ask a question about working hereA question, not an application — please do not send a CV or personal details through it.
Your information
What happens to what you send us
Our privacy notice already declares recruitment as a purpose — taking steps towards an employment contract with you. It does not yet go further than that.
Open itemThere is no separate recruitment privacy notice yet, and there needs to be one before anyone can apply: what an application collects, who reads it, how long an unsuccessful one is kept, and what happens to a DBS certificate number. That notice will be published here and in our policies before any application route opens.
